Bananas & Cream Smoothie (2)

Bananas & Cream Smoothie

This banana and cream smoothie is packed full of nutrients but tastes like a dessert. The creamy thick texture allows it to be eaten with a spoon or drunk if you prefer. The honey, vanilla and banana combine to make a light yet decadent taste that is healthy yet satisfying and completely guilt free.

Using frozen bananas avoids adding ice to the smoothie which helps to maintain consistency without watering it down and also ensures that it is chilled to the perfect serving temperature.
Soy milk does not contain lactose which means it is a non-dairy substitute for those with allergies or intolerance. Be aware that some Greek yogurt does contain lactose so if you are aiming for a dairy-free smoothie make sure you chose the appropriate lactose free version. If you do not have any intolerance you can use Greek yogurt if you choose.

Smoothie Health Benefits

  • Bananas are full of potassium which helps to balance fluid in the cells and vessels in the cardiovascular system and benefits heart health and a natural heart rhythm.

  • Additionally the vitamin A content helps to preserve the eye membranes to allow light into your cornea which can keep good eye health and protect normal vision.

  • The soluble fiber in bananas also slows digestion to leave you feeling fuller for longer which prevents overeating and is perfect for those on a diet or weight loss management program. As well as this, they are a naturally sweet fruit that can curb sugar cravings and subdue your sweet tooth.

  • The added honey in the smoothie provides an extra energy boost for your workouts due to the slow absorption fructose found in honey which means that this smoothie can provide the perfect morning drink to set you up for the rest of the day.
